It took me 40 years to look this good :)

It seems surreal to think I’m 40 already. It happened SO fast!

My cousin and I celebrating our 40th's together

With that being said, forty trips around the sun are a privilege that some people don’t get to have.

I’m very grateful to be 40.

My 20's and 30's were mostly spent mothering (I became a mom at 24), so while there have been lots of changes in the past two decades, my life has revolved around four kids.....juggling busy mom life......period.

The next ten years are going to be full of change (like, the fact that my boys will be grown ass adult men!) and while I know some of it will be bittersweet,  I think it’s going to be really interesting to see how my life shifts.  Yes, a grey hair here and there and some wrinkles will be in my future, but that’s not a big deal.  And in fact, those things are in reality, beautiful gifts of growing older and living.

At the end of this decade, I find myself less concerned with what other people are doing/thinking/saying and more focused on the life I want to live. The things that light me up from the inside.  I’m excited to be where I am in this season of life, age is after all just a number.

We celebrated with family on the warm sandy beach in Cabo. We rented a condo near the downtown area where my family from Chicago was already staying. I loved being walking distance to all the restaurants, marina, shops and the only swimmable beach in the area. We felt safe the whole time, and the weather was simply perfect. Alaska airlines has a direct flight there from Vegas too which put us gate to gate in under 2-1/2hrs. Besides a 30 min return flight delay, and leaving my brand new iPhone on the airplane seat (talk about nervous Nancy I was for a good hot min), the flights were seamless and so easy. I can’t wait to go back, we really had an awesome time! Cheer’s to 40 being the new 30 hahaha!

I left my big camera at home this trip and used my phone camera, and was so happy I did!

Few highlights from our trip below.
