How can we best support mothers during the 4th trimester?

Who run the world? Moms! And boy, do they need some backup during the post-baby chaos. Here are some tips to be the ultimate sidekick in person!

1. Meal Preparation

  • Organize meal trains or prepare freezer meals. Home-cooked meals can be a huge relief. I have had success using mealtrain.com


2. Childcare Support

  • Offer to babysit or help with older siblings to give the mother some much-needed downtime.

  • Help with household chores like cleaning, laundry, or organizing. This can free up time for the mother to bond with her baby.

  • Take care of grocery shopping or run other errands to alleviate the burden on the mother.

  • Simply being there to listen and provide emotional encouragement can make a big difference.

  • Spend time with her, whether that’s enjoying a cup of tea together or just being present. Connection is vital.

  • Remind her to take breaks and rest whenever possible, reinforcing that it's okay to ask for help.
