Father's Day Craft Idea

So I'm really hoping my husband doesn't happen to look at this before Sunday ha ha! But if he does, honey STOP reading now and act surprised :)  The kids and I wanted to make something special for their daddy to hang in his office.  I went to Michael's and found some great frames really cheap!  They have a additional 25% off frames coupon found here, that I used on frames that were already 50% off regular price! I made out with some really nice frames at a fraction of the price.

A long time ago I came across this cute poem that I knew I wanted to use someday so I held on to it.  I typed it up in a cute childish font and cut it out to fit in my frame.  The kids and I made some hand prints using some standard finger paint and I cut them out after they dried and used some glue dots (OMG! I am a fan of these little guys) to secure them to some colorful paper.  I cut them out once more.  Made some stems and leaves out of green paper (glue doted them to the hands) and put everything in the frame!!!  It was so simple and when you use the glue dots there is no drying time!  Give this simple and absolutely adorable craft to a special person in your kids lives.

The poem reads:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls

But every day I’m growing --
I’ll be grown some day
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away

So here’s a little hand print
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
when I was very small

Happy Father’s Day Daddy
We love you!
