Bountiful Baskets Co-op

So I heard about this Bountiful Baskets Co-op from a friend.  It's a really neat way to get some of the best produce for you and your family for the BEST prices around!  They basically pool all the money they get from basket orders (you have to order between Monday 12pm - Tuesday midnight), then they spend it all where the grocery stores shop.  You choose one of many locations to pick it up the next Saturday morning, then all the participants show up and take home their baskets and bread!

Baskets go for $15 for regular and $25 for organic.  It can save tons on your fresh produce bills and you get the freshest fruits and vegetables available in your area.  Plus, you can introduce your family to new seasonal things you may not normally pick up or use.  I have only participated once so far and I think I'm already hooked!  I went with the organic basket (which runs $25) and I couldn't wait to get home and see what goodies we got!  The box was full of apples, plums, bananas, grapes, onions, garlic, lettuce, bok choy, cantaloupe, cabbage and tomatoes.  I am going to try and plan my weekly meals around what produce I get in my box each week.  Hopefully it will help me stick to the meal plan because I will have all this food I need to use during the week anyway.  Check it out to see if it's in your area and give it a try!  There is no obligation to keep ordering.

Where do you go to get started?
